Wood Fired Recipes for the BIG Game!

The big game is here and it is no time to leave your oven sitting cold. It is time to show your friends what your oven can do. This week we share 3 recipes that are guaranteed to be a hit!

Sweet & Spicy Wood Fired Chicken Wings

INGREDIENTS:

3 pounds chicken wings and drums
1 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
1 cup honey
1/2 cup olive oil
1 teaspoon of sea salt
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Fire your oven to 500°F.

Place the drums and wings on a baking sheet, rub with olive oil, and season with salt, pepper, garlic, and cayenne pepper.

Bake for 20 minutes, or until fully cooked.

Place the drums & wings in a large bowl, add honey, and toss to coat.

Chickpea and Caramelized Onion Dip

INGREDIENTS:

3 tbsp. olive oil
5 large onions
2 garlic cloves
1 1/2 tsp. cumin
1 tsp. dried Greek oregano
1 – 15.5 oz. can chickpeas, drained and rinsed
2 tbsp. fresh lemon juice
1/4 tsp. kosher salt

Wrap the whole onions and garlic (unpeeled) in foil.

Place in the oven at 500° F with a few embers burning, right next to the embers.
Rotate every 10 minutes so different sides of the foil are exposed to the high heat. Remove after 45 minutes, or when fully cooked.
Peel the onion and garlic and place in large bowl.
Add olive oil, oregano, cumin, chickpeas, lemon juice and salt. With an immersion blender, blend until smooth. If the mixture is too thick, add a little water.
